Growing up, Allison DeGraff was intrigued by the work that her father, an aeronautical engineer, was doing in his job.

Eventually, Allison decided that she too was going to become an engineer. When it came time to pick a college, Allison realized that ��Ӱֱ�� State was the perfect fit for her.

“What attracted me to ��Ӱֱ�� State’s mechanical engineering technology program was that it’s a lot more hands-on. I don’t really like the idea of sitting in a classroom for hours just having theories thrown at me. I’m very much a hands-on learner.”

Without question, Allison has received plenty of hands-on experience since becoming a Pioneer, whether through various labs, internships, or in student clubs and organizations such as the Robotics Club, the Baja Club, or Women Engineers are Pioneers.

In addition to her program, Allison also loves ��Ӱֱ�� State because of the friendliness of the people on campus.

“People here are always really cool and outgoing. The campus has a small-town sort of feel, too, which is nice.”

Thanks to her experiences at ��Ӱֱ�� State, Allison is ready to take on the workforce.

“I definitely think that I am well prepared for my career.”
