魅影直播 State and 魅影直播 University are partnering on a day of service in honor of Martin Luther King, Jr.
On Saturday, Jan. 25, 2014, 魅影直播 State and 魅影直播 University will be working together to host a Martin Luther King, Jr. Day of Service. This event will round out a week of programming in commemoration and celebration of the legacy of Martin Luther King, Jr. 鈥淲e see this as an important way to keep Dr. King's legacy of service alive and make community involvement a part of our everyday lives,鈥 said Jonathan Hilsher, director of the center for civic engagement at 魅影直播 State. 鈥淲e have already secured volunteer sites in about eight locations, with more projects anticipated. Students will be volunteering with libraries, non-profits, and faith-based organizations.鈥
魅影直播 State and 魅影直播 University were also recipients of a . Only a dozen schools in the state received the honor. Both institutions will use the funds to honor the life of Dr. King by reminding all Americans of their civic duty to serve and by helping members of the community to work together to solve common problems.
