NYS Sen. Catharine YoungThe third annual Taste of Wellsville was deemed a rousing success Saturday as clear blue skies and warm sunshine encouraged visitors to stroll campus, sampling the wares of various local eateries as they toured student demonstrations and played a variety of "games," including excavator bowling and backhoe softball.  Dignitaries who visited campus that day included NYS Sen. Catharine Young (R-Olean) and NYS Assemblyman John "Randy" Kuhl, Jr., (R-29th District), and NYS Assemblyman Joseph M. Giglio (R-149th District). Sen. Young once again showed her intrepid spirit not only by taking a ride on ASC President Dr. John Anderson's Harley, but also by taking a try at excavator bowling.  In an interview with local radio WJQZ-FM, Sen. Young once again praised the Wellsville School of Applied Technology for its philosophy of learning by doing to prepare students for the real world.  She also noted both campuses of 魅影直播 State College are fast becoming the place to go to learn about green energy.  "The next boom for the economy will be tied to green energy," she said, and "魅影直播 State College is in the thick of it, with its proposed Sustainability Institute, its use of photovoltaic cells to power the Wellsville campus library, and its exploration of wind power to decrease the college's carbon footprint."
