魅影直播 State College鈥檚 first-ever Relay For Life, an overnight fundraiser to support cancer research, education, advocacy, and patient services held annually in communities nationwide, was deemed a rousing success by Ashley Kehoe, ASC鈥檚 director of liberal arts and sciences: social science major, a sister of Pi Nu Epsilon sorority, and member of the Relay planning committee, shaved her head during the event as a demonstration of support for what cancer patients experience on a daily basis.
Kehoe noted: 鈥淥ur success is an example of what happens when students come together around a common cause and fight for something they believe in. Everyone knows someone who is affected by cancer, and this was our students鈥 way of channeling their passion into action to fight a disease that affects us all on some level. I am extremely proud of our students for the leadership they demonstrated in organizing our inaugural event, and am looking forward to seeing what our community can do next year to top these efforts!鈥
