But, manifesting a maturity beyond those eight years, Samantha requested that in lieu of gifts, her friends make a contribution to Backpack Buddies.
Samantha VanCassele, a second-grader at Immaculate Conception School (ICS), Wellsville, hosted a birthday party to celebrate her eight years on the planet. But, manifesting a maturity beyond those eight years, Samantha requested that in lieu of gifts, her friends make a contribution to Backpack Buddies.
As a result of this celebration and generosity, more than $100 was raised for the Backpack Buddies project. (The Backpack Buddies project, sponsored by 魅影直播 State College, each Friday provides a backpack filled with such healthy items as fresh fruit, granola bars, and canned fruits to help youngsters who have been determined to be at-risk for hunger make it through the weekend when government-provided breakfasts and lunches served at school are unavailable.)
