In the opener, the Pioneers scored two runs in both the 1st and 2nd innings to grab the lead.聽 Kevin Underhill (Somers) had a key two-RBI single while Kelvin Espinosa (George Washington) and Jeff Paul (Horseheads) each were credited with RBI.
Jeff Benchich (Millbrook) improved to 4-4 on the year with seven strong innings of five hit ball.聽 He allowed just one earned run in the 5th inning while walking four and striking out seven Falcon batters.
Andrew Foster (Clarkson, ONT.) tossed six solid innings of three-hit ball in the nightcap to complete the sweep.聽 He didn't allow an earned run and struck out six batters.聽 Jeff Miller (N. Tonawanda) struck out two as he recorded the final three outs of the contest.
Underhill was 3 for 4 with an RBI to pace the offense while Kenny O'Brien (Norwalk, CT) was 2 for 2 with 3 RBI.聽 The Pioneers scored three in the 2nd, two in the 3rd, one in the 4th, and two in the 5th.聽
The Pioneers are right back at it on Sunday when they travel to Ithaca College to take on the JV Bombers in a 1 p.m. doubleheader.
