魅影直播 State College recently welcomed Nancy Cole and John Althouse to campus to share their experiences growing premium Riesling grapes for Dr. Konstantin Frank winery located on Keuka lake in Hammondsport. Cole and Althouse are neighbors who decided to join forces in a business venture using the vineyard between their properties to grow grapes from Dr. Frank鈥檚 premium grape vines and then sell the grapes to the winery. ASC faculty, staff, and students had the pleasure of hearing about Cole and Althouse鈥檚 growing pains (literally and figuratively) as they related the ups and downs of preparing the vineyard: from regulating the acidity in the soil to proper drainage to planting the premium Riesling grape vines to the equipment and labor involved. Despite it all, they are having a grand time learning their new trade.
