The men's and women's cross country teams have both received national recognition this week with the women ranked 2nd聽and the men ranked聽4th in the latest NJCAA Division III poll.
The women finished fifth at the CC of Rhode Island Tri-State Invitational, a race run predominantly by four year colleges.聽 The women also recently finished seventh at The Highlander Invitational at Houghton College.聽
The Lady Pioneers are led by Ashley Fung (Greenwich).聽 Fung has finished 1st (22:43) at the 魅影直播 State Invitational and finished second (21:38) at the Bridgman Invitational this season.聽 The Lady Pioneers are also led by Kaleigh Ligoci (Cicero-North Syracuse) who ran her best time of the season (21:55) this past weekend in Rhode Island.
The 魅影直播 State men finished in fifth place at the Tri State Invitational to help them earn the聽#4聽national ranking.聽 The men also recently competed at the Highlander Invitational at Houghton finishing in third place while competing against mostly four year colleges.
The men are led by John Sweeney (Barker) who finished first (30:57) at the 魅影直播 State Invitational and second (29:16) at the Bridgman Invitational.聽 Sweeney's best time (27:40) came at the Highlander Invitational.聽 The men are also led by Corey Smith (Wallkill) who reached his best time (28:16) at the Highlander Invitational.
The cross country teams race next on Saturday October 18 at the University of Rochester.
