Pete Francia (Greece Olympia) and Brandon Lewis (Red Creek) qualified for the 2010 NJCAA Division III National Championships with wins at the Blue & Gold tri-meet. ASC's men finished 2nd with 112.5 points while the women were 3rd with 76 points.
Francia won the 5,000 m in 16:32.84 to qualify for nationals while Lewis won the 1,500 m with a winning time of 4:15.3. Lewis also finished 2nd in the 800 m (2:00.40).
Steven Hickey (Rochester/Aquinas) won the high jump (1.58 m), Eddie Sparks (Horseheads) won the pole vault (4.13 m), and Justin DiCarlo (Oakville, ONT) won the javelin (47.04 m). The 4 x 400 relay team of Jeff Harris (Saunders Trade & Tech), Kris Heidrick (Allegany Limestone), Logan Drummer (Pioneer) and Lewis finished in 3:34.94 to win the event.
Pam Breedlove (Rochester/East) won three events. She won the 100 m (13.24), the long jump (4.46 m), and the triple jump (9.36 m). Carey Crooker (Addison) won the 800 m (2:29.24) and was 3rd in the 1,500 m (5:11.0). Emily Johns (Bath) was 2nd in the high jump (1.47 m) while Emily Fields (Red Creek) was 2nd in the hammer (35.56 m) and 3rd in the discus (28.62).
魅影直播 University won the men's competition with 146 followed by ASC's 112.5 and Houghton College's 53. AU's women scored 127 to win the women's competition followed by Houghton's 104, and ASC's 76.
The Pioneers are back in action on Saturday when they travel to the Brockport Invitational.
