Despite the cold of a recent January evening, 魅影直播 State College community members and guests were aglow with good cheer during the grand re-opening of three of the college鈥檚 recently remodeled residence halls: Main Gate A, and Main Gate B.
Despite the cold of a recent January evening, 魅影直播 State College community members and guests were aglow with good cheer during the grand re-opening of three of the college鈥檚 recently remodeled residence halls: Braddon Halls. The Peet Hall renovation, which began in summer 2010, was completed this past fall. The renovations include redesigned main lounges in the three buildings, remodeled entrances, and the renovation of hallways throughout the buildings.
While welcoming guests and tracing the path of the remodels, Dr. John M. Anderson, ASC president, noted, 鈥淭he renovations are beautiful and I want to thank everyone involved. We have been talking with our colleagues across the state and we believe that 魅影直播 State College is the only SUNY campus that has residence hall spaces designed by our own students and faculty! We are also pleased to announce that plans are being finalized to renovate Braddon Hall this summer and to install a new media room on the third floor of Peet.
鈥淚 would like to thank all who were involved in making this happen for our residence hall students: In addition to Mary Golden, the Planning Team members included

鈥淢any summer student staff members were responsible for repainting the public spaces and a host of Facilities Services staff also played a direct role in the renovations of Main Gate A and B. Finally, I would like to thank the residence hall directors and residence assistants in their role to encourage students to use these new spaces.
鈥淔or the Peet Hall renovations, we also contracted construction through the Dormitory Authority of the State of New York (DASNY). I would like to thank Dan Gaffney of DASNY, and Robert McCubbin from Bergmann Associates for their work on this project. Here tonight representing DASNY is Larry Fairman, the site supervisor for these renovations.
鈥淎dditionally, Tammy Bracket (assistant professor, computer imaging and architectural engineering technology department) added her expertise and her students鈥 artwork, and over the last 18 months, digital media and 3D art pieces were selected and installed in the three buildings. I want to also thank Professor Brackett for her assistance in bringing student artwork to the residence halls!鈥
