During the week of Nov. 9-12, several climate change events will occur on the ÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State College campus. All events are free and open to the public.

The Humphrey Fellows – a dozen international scholars and researchers – will be on the ASC campus next week as part of the English and Humanities project. Some of the Fellows will participate in the panel discussion on Wednesday night, Nov. 11. Others will present in a lecture/discussion series in classes on Thursday morning and early afternoon, Nov. 12.

In addition, a poster session, a film, and a forum for student papers sponsored by ACES (Auxiliary Campus Enterprises and Services, the campus food service, transportation, and vending organization) will occur.

The Humphrey Fellows will host a poster session on Wednesday evening and Thursday in the space adjacent to the venue each day. Students and faculty members can meet with them and learn about climate change and other topics related to each Fellow’s home country. The poster session is organized by Dr. Jerri Drummond, director, Office of Multicultural Affairs and associate vice president of Student Development.

On Monday night, 7-9 p.m. in Engineering 215, a film featuring the Yes Men, gonzo journalists and pranksters, will be shown. The Yes Men Save the World is a humorous, challenging, clever movie showing the work of the Yes Men as they actually do try to change the world with street theater and guerilla political action. The film covers many issues including climate change. Discussion follows the film.

On Tuesday night, 7-8 p.m., in Allied Health 120, a climate change forum presenting student writing will be held. The forum will allow any student at the college to present any papers already written on climate change. It will be a great opportunity for students to showcase their work on behalf of climate change. Students who have yet to write a climate change paper might attend to see how others have narrowed the topic, selected an audience, and determined their purpose. ACES has generously sponsored prizes that will be awarded, perhaps to as many as 10 students.
