The 魅影直播 State College softball team ran their winning streak to four games with a doubleheader sweep at Erie CC.聽 The Lady Pioneers improve to 5-7 on the season with 23-1 and 5-2 victories.
In the opener, ASC scored nine runs in the 3rd inning and 10 more in the 5th inning to take control of the contest.聽 The Lady Pioneers took advantage of 12 Kat walks and two hits batsmen.聽 Teresa Walker (Jamestown) was 3 for 4 with three runs scored and three RBI while Holly Fitzpatrick (Hornell) was 1 for 2 with four runs scored.
Becky Simpson (Campbell Savona) earned the win after tossing five innings of one hit ball.聽 She struck out eight and walked just one.
Simpson picked up another victory in the nightcap.聽 She hurled all seven innings and allowed just one earned run and six hits while striking out six batters.聽 Katherine McCarthy (Orchard Park) was 2 for 4 with two runs scored and an RBI while Walker was 1 for 3 with an RBI.聽
ASC trailed 1-0 heading into the 4th inning but scored two runs and never gave the lead up.
The Blue and Gold return to the road on Thursday when they travel to Finger Lakes CC for a 3 p.m. doubleheader with the Lady Lakers.
