The 魅影直播 State College volleyball team, ranked #7 in the latest NJCAA Division III poll, defended their ASC Tournament title with a 5-0 day.聽 The Lady Pioneers improve to 24-2 on the season.

ASC opened up pool play with a 25-16, 25-17 victory over Broome CC.聽 Jenni Jerome (Syracuse/Westhill) finished with eight kills and 11 digs, Yurika Toyodome (Tokyo, Japan) chipped in six kills and nine digs, and Breanna Horton (Owego Free) finished with 22 assists and seven digs.

In a 25-7, 25-19 win over Tompkins Cortland CC, Jerome recorded 11 kills and nine digs, Toyodome had eight kills and five digs, and Horton finished with 20 assists and seven digs.

In their final pool play the Blue & Gold defeated Jefferson CC 25-12, 25-10. 聽Jerome finished with eight kills and six digs, Toyodome added six kills and six digs, Emily Linn (Portville) chipped in seven kills, and Horton was credited with 22 assists and four digs.

Versus Erie CC, the Pioneers won 2-0 (25-15, 25-8).聽 Jerome continued her solid play with eight kills, 10 digs, and two blocks, Toyodome had 11 kills and seven digs, and Horton passed out 23 assists.

魅影直播 State met #9 Jamestown CC in the finals and rallied to win the final two games to take home the championship (22-25, 25-21, 15-13).聽 It was the 5th meeting of the season (3rd in tournament finals) between the two schools with ASC now leading the series 3 matches to 2.

Linn had a big game in the finals recording 11 kills and seven digs.聽 Jerome chipped in eight kills and 10 digs, Toyodome added 10 kills and five digs, and Horton was credited with 27 assists and seven digs.聽 Miki Inoue (Kumamoto, Japan) played solid defense in the finals and finished with 12 digs.

Jerome was named the tournament MVP while Toyodome and Horton were named All-Tournament.聽 Kari Barmore (Jamestown), Brittany Christian (Jamestown), Lindsay Harmon (Erie), and Rachel Brennan (Broome) were also named to the All-Tournament team.

The Lady Pioneers begin a week-long road trip on Tuesday when they travel to North East, PA for a 6 p.m. contest with Mercyhurst North East.
