The 魅影直播 State College women's basketball team won a hard fought battle 74-71 over SUNY Delhi in the finals of the Delhi Tournament. The win improves the Lady Pioneers to 3-0 on the young season.
Camille Romero (Queens Village/Mary Louis) scored 21 points to lead ASC en route to being named the MVP of the Tournament. Haley Witchella (Oxford Academy) added 20 points and was named to the All-Tournament team. Amie Brooks (Pavilion) chipped in 14 points and Nuri Bey (Bronx/HS of Computers & Technology) finished with 10.
ASC trailed 36-32 at halftime but was able to outscore the Lady Broncos 42 to 35 in the 2nd half to rally for the victory.
This is the second year in a row that ASC competed at the Delhi Tournament and the team is 3-1 in the two years.
The Lady Pioneers return to action Tuesday when they travel to Cayuga CC for a 5:30 p.m. tip-off.
