In pool play the Blue and Gold downed Tompkins Cortland CC 25-18 and 25-10 and Adirondack CC 25-17 and 25-14 before falling in three to Monroe CC 25-23, 23-25, 12-15.
Despite the loss that snapped a ten-match winning streak, the Lady Pioneers advanced to the semifinals where they downed Corning CC 25-9 and 25-15 to set up a re-match with the Tribunes.聽 In the finals, ASC tripped up MCC 25-19 and 25-14.
Emily Linn (Portville) led the way with 36 kills, 23 digs, and six blocks while Jenni Jerome (Syracuse/Westhill) added 35 kills, 27 digs, and 10 service aces.聽 Yurika Toyodome (Tokyo, Japan) finished with 31 kills, 29 digs, six blocks, and two aces, Breanna Horton聽(Owego Free) passed out 102 assists, 18 digs, six assists, and five blocks, and Mike Inoue (Kumamoto, Japan) had a team high 49 digs and 15 kills.聽 Christina Nolan (Niagara Wheatfield) chipped in 21 digs.
The wins on Saturday lifted the team to the 30-win plateau for the third straight season.
ASC wraps up the WNYAC regular season聽on Tuesday when they host Erie CC at 6 p.m.聽 It is a "Dig Pink" game where the team will be raising money to help with the American Volleyball Coaches Association initiative to fight breast cancer.
