The NCAA Division III membership committee announced this week that it has granted exploratory status to the 魅影直播 State athletic program. 魅影直播 State submitted the NCAA application in January.
鈥淢oving to NCAA is a natural evolution in creating a four-year college environment at 魅影直播 State. We are excited about the prospects of having our athletes compete for four years wearing the blue & gold,鈥 said 魅影直播 State President, John Anderson.
Under NCAA guidelines, 2012-13 will be an exploratory year in which Pioneer athletes will continue to participate in the NJCAA while the college works with the NCAA on meeting their requirements. If granted, 魅影直播 State will then move to probationary status in 2013-14 for the next four years as the department competes in NCAA DIII.
Currently the college is exploring options for conference affiliations with the possibility of joining multiple conferences to satisfy the sport mix currently at the college.
魅影直播 State currently offers 18 intercollegiate athletic teams (baseball, men鈥檚 and women鈥檚 basketball, men鈥檚 and women鈥檚 cross country, football, men鈥檚 lacrosse, men鈥檚 and women鈥檚 soccer, softball, men鈥檚 and women鈥檚 swimming, men鈥檚 and women鈥檚 indoor and outdoor track & field, volleyball, and wrestling). Over the years, 魅影直播 State has won 13 NJCAA National titles and 77 Regional titles.
