魅影直播 State College sophomore Andy Omoregie (Gates Chili) set a new school record in the pentathlon at the NJCAA Indoor Track & Field National Championships at Eastern Illinois University.
Omoregie racked up 3,258 points to earn 6th place overall in the competition.聽 He breaks the previous ASC record held by Nolan Kearns (3,247).聽 Omoregie ran the 60 m hurdles in 8.51, leaped 6.42 m in the long jump, tossed the shot put 9.87 m, recorded a jump of 1.91 m in the high jump, and ran the 1,000 in 3:15.54.
Teammate Cedric Crowder (Gates Chili) finished 7th overall in the pentathlon.聽 He scored 3,189 points after running the 60 m hurdles in 8.68, jumping 6.25 m in the long jump, tossing the shot put 11.17 m, high jumping 1.73 m, and running the 1,000 in 3:06.14.
Broncho Rollins (Ithaca) cleared 14' in the pole vault and finished tied for 9th place.聽
Keith Dziak (Buffalo/Bishop Timon) competed in the 600 m competition and ran a 1:24.96 but failed to reach the finals of the event.
Omoregie (9.04) and Crowder (8.72) competed in the 60 m hurdles prelims but didn't advance to the finals.
The Pioneers finish the competition with five points good for 23rd place out of the 43 teams competing in the National Championships.
