Pioneer Baseball Wins One over Weekend

The 魅影直播 State College baseball team went 1-3 on a weekend road trip.  ASC fell 1-0 and and 9-2 to Lackawanna (PA) College on Friday and then split a doubleheader with Hagerstown (MD) CC, winning 8-6 and falling 4-3 in eight innings.  ASC is now 12-9 on the season.

The 魅影直播 State College baseball team went 1-3 on a weekend road trip.  ASC fell 1-0 and and 9-2 to Lackawanna (PA) College on Friday and then split a doubleheader with Hagerstown (MD) CC, winning 8-6 and falling 4-3 in eight innings.  ASC is now 12-9 on the season.

Mark Ciccotti (Horseheads) didn't allow an earned run in six innings of work in game one versus Lackawanna but was the tough luck loser.  Ciccotti allowed seven hits and two walks while striking out two.  ASC was held to just three singles in the contest.

ASC couldn't get the bats going again in game two on Friday as they were held to just three hits.  Lackawanna collected 11 hits and scored two in the 1st, three in the 3rd, and four in the 6th to secure the victory.

On Saturday, Joe Wallace (Avoca) hit a three-run homer in the 7th inning to erase a 6-5 deficit and lift the Pioneers to the 8-6 victory in game one versus Hagerstown.  He finished 2 for 4 with 3 RBI while Kyle Barkley (Penn Yan) was 2 for 3 with 2 RBI.  Kevan Smith (Cicero North Syracuse) added a two-run double.  Tyler Ward (Rochester/Bishop Kearney) earned the win with 6.1 innings while Ciccotti recorded the final two outs to pick up the save.

Hagerstown broke a 3-3 tie with a two-out rally in the 8th inning to down ASC.  JP Frey (Erie, PA) led the Pioneers with a 1 for 3 day with 2 RBI.  Kyle Barkley pitched well allowing four runs on eight hits in 7.2 innings of work.  He struck out eight but walked six.

The Pioneers head to Lakeland CC on Tuesday for another non-league doubleheader.  First pitch in Mentor, OH is slated for 1 p.m.
