The Pioneers trailed by just three at half, 37-34, but the Thunderwolves extended the lead to as many as 17 in the 2nd half before the Pioneers mounted a comeback that cut the lead to as little as seven.
Pat Parker (Queens/Hillcrest) hit six of his seven 3-point attempts and led the blue & gold with 31 points. Alex Hall continued his solid play as of late with 21 points and seven rebounds while DaQuan Allen (Brooklyn/Boys & Girls) and Thomas Stein (Caledonia Mumford) each finished with eight points. The Pioneers shot 47.3% from the field and 41.4% from three.
Jacob Hughes led four Thunderwolves in double figures with 18 points. NCCC shot 56.4% from the field.
The Pioneers continue their three game road trip on Tuesday with a 7:30 p.m. contest at Mercyhurst North East.
