The 魅影直播 State College baseball team dropped a 13-inning 3-2 decision to Monroe CC in the WNYAC semifinal on Saturday afternoon.聽 The Pioneers finish the fall season with a 6-9 mark.
After falling behind 3-0 after four innings, the Pioneers scored two in the 7th and one in the 8th to聽force extra innings.聽 The Tribunes聽scored an unearned run in the 13th to advance to the finals.聽
Freshman pitcher Travis Noyd (Union Endicott) tossed 12 solid innings of work.聽 He allowed one earned run on seven hits in one of the longest outings in ASC baseball history.聽 He walked five and struck out five.
Steve Smith (Hornell) led the offense with a 4 for 5 performane.聽He collected three singles, a triple, and a RBI.聽 Karl Kofmel (Ottawa, ONT) was 2 for 5 with an RBI while Derek Speaker (Starpoint) drove home the other run.
The Pioneers will now begin preparation for the spring season which begins in the middle of March with the team's annual trip to Cocoa, FL.
