NCC got on the board first capitalizing on a Pioneer turnover. Steven Miller rushed in from 2-yards out just 21 seconds into the game to make it 7-0.
Emmanuel Magliocco (Rochester/Aquinas) connected with Kurtis Breese (Duke Center, PA/Otto-Eldred) on a 23-yard scoring play with 13:12 remaining to get the Pioneers on the board. Josh Franchina's (Cassada Valley) extra point tied it up.
The Lions took advantage of a botched snap on a punt attempt to make it 14-7 on Miller's second short scoring run with 6:48 remaining in the half. They added to their lead heading into halftime when Francis Drummond connected with Charles Bush on a 54-yard pass play with just 50 seconds remaining.
On the first possession of the 2nd half, NCC scored again on a one-yard dive by Drummond. Sir Aaron Taylor (West Chester/Lincoln Hall) answered back four minutes late when he dove in from a yard out. Franchina's extra point made it 28-14.
Drummond connected with Krishon Daye on a 19-yard pass play minutes later to increase the lead back to 21 points.
魅影直播 rallied back three minutes later with another Taylor rushing score. Taylor scored from six yards out to cap a 43-yard drive. Franchina hit the extra points to make it 35-21.
On the ensuing kickoff, the Nassau returner fell at the 2-yard setting up poor field position. The next play was fumbled and Michael DeGroat (Vestal) dove on the ball to cut the lead to one score, 35-28 after Franchina's extra point.
The Lions answered right back on their next drive with Drummond's third scoring pass of the day. He connecte with Nate King from 18-yards out with 9:30 remaining to up the lead to 42-28.
Magliocco connected with Josh Griffin (Englewood, NJ/Dwight Morrow) on an eight-yard scoring pass with 4:52 remaining to give the Pioneers hope once again.
ASC was unable to stop the Lions offense the rest of the way and Nassau was able to run out the clock.
Miller finished with 115 yards rushing and two scores to pace Nassau while Drummond was 9 for 14 for 142 yards and three scores. Bush had five catches for 98 yards.
Taylor led ASC with 108 yards rushing on 18 carries while Magliocco was 12 for 18 for 147 yards and two scores. Devin Simmons (Elmira Free) had six catches for 67 yards and 23 yards rushing on two carries.
Justin Smith (Richmond, VA/CD Hylton) led the defense with 12 tackles while Kyle Ricks (Alexandria, VA/Mt. Vernon) added nine. Taylor finished with eight tackles and an interception.
ASC was slowed down by four fumbles in the first half. The offense garnered 227 total yards while Nassau finished with 308.
The Pioneers will wrap up their season next Saturday with a 11 a.m. kickoff at Louisburg College (Louisburg, NC).
