Kathleen Casey Ebert, Wellsville, professor of mathematics and statistics at 魅影直播 State College, has been invited to serve on the Provost's Advisory Group for the SUNY (State University of New York) Assessment Initiative as a representative of faculty, the GEAR (General Education Assessment Review) committee group, and the Colleges of Technology.
Kathleen Casey Ebert, Wellsville, professor of mathematics and statistics at 魅影直播 State College, has been invited to serve on the Provost's Advisory Group for the SUNY (State University of New York) Assessment Initiative as a representative of faculty, the GEAR (General Education Assessment Review) committee group, and the Colleges of Technology. This 15-member group is investigating ways in which the SUNY Assessment Initiative could be streamlined, and further, where appropriate, make recommendations to the University Provost.
Last year Ebert was appointed to the SUNY GEAR by the SUNY Provost鈥檚 Office and University Faculty Senate. The GEAR group has responsibility for reviewing and approving campuses' general education assessment plans.
Ebert has been a member of the 魅影直播 State College faculty since 1993, served as department chair for six years, and has been instrumental in creating and sustaining assessment at 魅影直播 State for the past several years. Last year she served as interim director of assessment and professional development.
She is a member of WNY Assessment Leaders Group, Finger Lakes Faculty Development Network, and has been a committee chair for Assessment of Student Performance for a national organization, AMATYC (American Mathematics Association of Two Year Colleges) since 2004. Ebert co-chaired 魅影直播 State鈥檚 Middle States Self-Study in 2005 for reaccreditation and is co-chairing the Middle States Periodic Review this year.
Ebert has also served as a reader and grader for College Board鈥檚 high school AP Statistics exams. She is a parent representative on the Wellsville High School leadership team.
She holds an associate鈥檚 degree from 魅影直播 State College, a bachelor鈥檚 degree from 魅影直播 University in mathematics, a master鈥檚 degree from University at Buffalo in statistics, and is currently completing her doctoral dissertation through the University at Buffalo in educational research methods.
Prior to joining 魅影直播 State, Ebert taught for Erie Community College, Cattaraugus Central Schools, and WNY Children鈥檚 Psychiatric Center.
Ebert is the mother of three teenage children: Jacob, Veronica, and Liam Ebert, all of Wellsville.
