Q & A with Audrey Rath

Audrey Rath (Medina) has been a defensive specialist playing almost every minute of the ��Ӱֱ�� State College soccer season. Rath has put six shots on net and has been credited with one assist on the season. More importantly she has played sweeper for a defensive unit that has allowed just 16 goals in 15 games on the season. The Lady Pioneers ended the regular season with a 10-4-1 mark and will host a Regional semifinal game on Tuesday. Rath sat down and answered a few questions from the sports information office.

Your team has recorded six shutouts this season. As a defensive player, what sense of accomplishment do you get from that? I feel that my team knows what needs to be done and tries their best to succeed at it. No matter what. We have come so far.

How much pride do you take in the fact that your team's goals against average is around 1.0? I am very proud in what my team has accomplished. I take a lot of pride in having that statistic. It shows that the whole team knows how to play defense all game.

What does the team need to accomplish for you to consider this season to be a successful one? We need to work as a team and to be successful we need to trust and listen to one another.

What is your most memorable athletic accomplishment? My junior year in high school we tied for 2^nd place in our league and went all the way to semi finals.

Who has been your biggest influence? Everyone that drives me to keep going, mostly my family.

What made you choose to come to ��Ӱֱ�� State? The friendly community as well as the percentage of job opportunities and of course my major and soccer.
