The Vikings got on the board on their first drive of the contest.聽 Dan McLaughlin connected with Eugene Cooper on a 23-yard pass play to cap a 45-yard drive.聽 The drive was set up by a 39 yard opening kickoff return by Cooper.
HVCC made it 14-0 just five minutes later when Bayshawn Wells return a Pioneer punt 86-yards for the score with 7:35 remaining in the 1st quarter.
No one could put any points on the board until Grant Tamme (Danville, KY) connected with Mike Septh (Monroe Woodbury) on a 13-yard pass play with 2:47 remaining in the 3rd quarter.聽 The touchdown drive was set after a Viking fumble.
Both teams had chances to score in the 4th quarter but each team traded turnovers.聽 The Pioneers turned the ball over four times (three interceptions and a fumble) in the quarter.
HVCC put the game out of reach with 2:22 remaining in the contest when McLaughlin hit Cooper with a 59-yard pass play on a crucial 3rd down play.
McLaughlin finished 14 for 22 on the day for 190 yards.聽 His favorite target was Cooper who finished with 101 yards on six catches.聽 Kamar Jordan caught six passes for 82 yards.聽 HVCC finished with 290 yards of offense on the day.
Tamme was 18 for 41 for the day for 269 yards and a score.聽 He connected with Septh five times for 82 yards and with Geoff Hicks (Buffalo/Cleveland Hill) five times for 73 yards.聽 ASC's offense accumulated 294 yards on the day.
David James led Hudson Valley with eight tackles and a sack.聽 Leroy George and Stephen Fortune each picked off two passes.
Nick Monroe (Irondequoit) led 魅影直播 with 14 tackles while Jerome Giffin (Syracuse/Corcoran) added 12 tackles.聽 Andy Eichas (Hilton) finished with six tackles and two fumble recoveries and Josia Jones (Syracuse/Onondaga) picked off a pass.
The Pioneers return to action next Saturday when they host Globe Institute of Technology at 1 p.m. at the Wellsville Athletic Complex.
