Swimming: Men 2nd, Women 3rd at GCC Invite

The 魅影直播 State College swimming team had a solid showing at their opening invitational of the season.  The men's team finished 2nd out of six teams at the Genesee CC Harvest Invitational while the women finished 3rd.

The 魅影直播 State College swimming team had a solid showing at their opening invitational of the season.  The men's team finished 2nd out of six teams at the Genesee CC Harvest Invitational while the women finished 3rd.

Ashley Andrus (Cuba Rushford) was a double individual event winner.  She won the 200 free (2:17.46) and the 100 free (1:01.74).  Jessica Hetrick (Elmira Southside) won the 200 IM (2:40.65) and finished 2nd in the 100 butterfly (1:15.78) while Sabrina Dunning (Cuba Rushford) was 3rd in the 1,000 free (14:06.36)

Cory Roberts (Marcus Whitman) led the men's team with a 2nd place finish in the 100 butterfly (1:03.23) and a 3rd place finish in the 1,000 free (12:48.04). Ethan Wright (Clyde Savannah) was 2nd in the 100 free (53.78), Ethan Kage (Medina) was 3rd in the 200 free (2:12.75), Tim Guarino (Cornwall) was 3rd in 1 meter diving (145.43 points), and Wade Harrington (Campbell Savona) was 3rd in the 500 free (7:05.67).

The women's 200 free relay team (2:01.64) and the 200 medley relay team (2:21.72) of Hetrick, Kaylie Cytrowski (Hutch Tech), Dunning, and Andrus finished 2nd.

The men's 200 free relay team (1:41.64) and the 200 medley relay team (1:57.49) both finished 2nd.  Roberts, Guarino, Kage, and Wright teammed up in the free relay while Harrington joined Guarino, Roberts, and Wright in the medley relay.

The men's team scored 182 points and trailed just Herkimer CCC (241.5 points).  Erie CC finished 3rd (164), Jamestown CC finished 4th (141.5), SUNY Delhi was 5th (111), and Genesee CC was 6th (60).

The Lady Pioneers finished with 145 points finishing behind Erie's 199 and Delhi's 167.  Genesee was 4th (107), Herkimer was 5th (90), and Jamestown was 6th (73).

The Pioneers have two weeks off before heading to Herkimer CCC on November 21 for the the General Invitational.
