The 魅影直播 State College volleyball team is ranked #7 in the first NJCAA Division III poll of the 2008.聽 The Lady Pioneers are currently 5-0 after winning the Mohawk Valley CC Tournament last Saturday.
Joining A-State in the first poll of聽the regular season are Region III opponents #9 Jamestown CC and others receiving votes Corning CC, Hudson Valley CC, and Niagara CCC.
Last weekend at MVCC, Jenni Jerome (Syracuse/Westhill) was named MVP of the tournament after recording聽37 kills, 30 digs, and three service aces.聽 Yurika Toyodome (Tokyo, Japan) and Breanna Horton (Owego Free) were each named to the all-tournament team.聽 Toyodome finished with 36 kills, 29 digs, 15 service aces, and four blocks while Horton passed out 106 assists on the day and collected 12 kills and six aces.
The Lady Pioneers will travel to the Jefferson CC Tournament this weekend and play in a pool with Jamestown, Jefferson CC, and SUNY Delhi.聽 Corning CC will also be in Watertown in the other pool with Monroe CC, Tompkins Cortland CC, and Herkimer CCC.
