The ÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State College women's soccer team has earned the #3 seed in the upcoming Region III Division III Tournament.Ìý With the #3 seed the Lady Pioneers will have a bye in theÌýquarterfinal round and will host a semifinalÌýmatch-up versus the winner of the #6 SUNY Delhi and #12 JCC-OleanÌýquarterfinal round contest on Tuesday October 21.

The Lady Pioneers will enter the postseason with a 10-4-1 mark and a 9-3-1 record in Region III Division III play.Ìý ASC was 6-1 in WNYAC competition and claimed the WNYACÌýDivision III crown with a perfect 5-0 record in matches versusÌýWNYAC Division IIIÌýschoolsÌýÌýThe team has a 5-3-1 record versus the rest of the field of the Region III Division III Tournament.Ìý

ASC has been led by the scoring duo of Jessie Smith (Fredonia) and Brittany Hannah (Eastridge).Ìý Smith leads the team with 32 points (12 goals and eight assists) while Hannah has 27 points (12 goals and three assists).Ìý Shelby Winchester (Maple Grove) has added 13 points on three goals and seven assists.Ìý Eleven different Pioneers have found the back of the net this year.

Meghan Lowell (Keshequa) has made 113 saves in 988 minutes.Ìý She has a 5-3-1 overall record and a 1.18 goals against average.Ìý Philicia Harris (Buffalo/Hutch Tech) is 5-1 on the year with a 0.84 goals against average.Ìý In front of the net, ASC has gotten solid performances from Audrey Rath (Medina), Emma Pollok (Fredonia), Chelsea Lafayette (Eastridge), and Jacquelyn Matteson (Greece Arcadia).Ìý The Lady Pioneers have held opponents to just 16 goals in 15 games on the year.

The match-up between ÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ and the winner of Delhi and JCC Olean will be played on Tuesday afternoon at 4 p.m. or 5 p.m. depending on the opponent.Ìý The winner will move on to the Region III B championship game to take on the winner of the Broome - Jamestown/Mohawk Valley CC game at Herkimer CCC on October 25.Ìý The winner of the Region III B Championship game will move on to a district play-off game.

This is the second year in a row under Coach Anne Holmok that the soccer team has advanced to the Regional Tournament.Ìý Last season the Lady Pioneers fell 5-1 to SUNY Delhi in the first round of the tournament and finished the season with a 7-8-1 overall mark.
