Plenty of fun and exciting activities and events await ��Ӱֱ�� State alumni, students, faculty, staff, and their families Sept. 10-13 during Homecoming/Family Weekend.

“The weekend is all about bringing friends together to share stories and reminisce, as well as creating new memories, remembering the past, and celebrating the future,” said Colleen Argentieri, director of Alumni Relations and co-chair of the Homecoming/Family Weekend Committee. “It’s going to be a terrific weekend and we are expecting another record attendance.”

Last year’s Homecoming/Family Weekend was a big success, as several events drew record-high attendances and sunny skies persisted throughout the weekend. This year’s event will include a larger-than-ever car show and the 50^th anniversary celebration of the Hinkle Memorial Library. Saturday’s football matchup against Husson University will be the first Homecoming/Family Weekend game for new head coach Jarod Dodson.

“We’re hoping for good weather, good food, a great time, and a win by the Pioneers,” said Spencer Peavey, senior director of Student Engagement and co-chair of the Homecoming/Family Weekend Committee.

The festivities begin at 4 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 10 at The Terrace, during the Blue and Gold Dinner, a students-only themed dinner in which students are encouraged to show up wearing traditional school colors. ACES will sponsor the event and hand out gifts to students. Those who wear school colors will be placed in a special drawing for an additional prize.

Also on Thursday is the annual dodgeball game between students and faculty and staff members, which will take place at 8 p.m. in the Orvis Activities Center gymnasium.

The rest of the schedule is as follows:

Friday, Sept. 11

• 7 p.m. – Magician Mike Super at the Cappadonia Auditorium in the Orvis Activities Center. Tickets are free of charge and are available at the Office of Student Engagement (Student Leadership Center, room 204).
• 8:30 p.m. – Spirit rally and bonfire in the parking lot near Pioneer Stadium, featuring a car smash, taco in a bag, brick oven pizza, cotton candy, and snow cones.
• 9:30 p.m. – Fireworks display and Late Night Glo-lympics at Pioneer Stadium, which will include glow-in-the-dark-related games such as miniature golf, glow racing, and laser tag.

Saturday, Sept. 12

• 9-11 a.m. – In recognition of its 50^th anniversary, the Hinkle Memorial Library will host a celebration, which will include a complimentary continental breakfast.
• 9 a.m. – Fifth annual Race for a Cure 5K Run/Walk, starting at 10 Elm. The cost to participate is $15, with proceeds benefiting Carly’s Club and Roswell Park Cancer Institute. Register online at . • 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. – Car show near Pioneer Stadium. Registration starts at 9:15 a.m. in Orvis Activities Center parking lot. Participants must RSVP by Sept. 7. There is no entry fee.
• 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. – Tailgate chicken barbecue party and chili cook-off at the tent by Pioneer Stadium. The cost is $11 for adults and $6 for children 12 and under. Inflatable activities will be available for children, starting at 10 a.m.
• 12:30 p.m. – People 21 and older can watch the big football game from the End Zone Club at Pioneer Stadium.
• 1 p.m. – Football game – ��Ӱֱ�� State Pioneers vs. Husson University (Bangor, ME) Eagles. Admission is $2, however, those who attend the tailgate barbecue will have their hand stamped and be admitted free of charge.
• 5 p.m. – ��Ӱֱ��’s Got Talent show in the Orvis Gymnasium, Orvis Activities Center.

Sunday, Sept. 13

• 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. – Brunch at The Terrace at the Central Dining Hall. The cost is $6.50 per person.
