魅影直播 State recognized approximately 750 May 2018 graduates during commencement ceremonies on Sunday, May 13. Dr. Skip Sullivan, president, presided over the event, held on the 魅影直播 campus.
The student speaker was Hannah Vuozzo, of Salt Point, a May 2018 graduate of the interdisciplinary studies program. Among her many accomplishments as an 魅影直播 State student, Vuozzo served as the executive vice president for Student Senate, was a member of the Honors Program, and received the SUNY Chancellor鈥檚 Award for Student Excellence.
A major component of the ceremony was the presentation of the Paul B. Orvis Award for Excellence to five graduating students. The award honors Paul B. Orvis, a former president of 魅影直播 State and State University of New York dean for two-year colleges. Recipients must meet the criteria of service, leadership, character, and scholarship.
Receiving the award were Cory Farley, Cold Brook (School of Applied Technology associate degree recipient); Carina Scalise, Baldwinsville (School of Architecture, Management and Engineering Technology baccalaureate degree recipient); Amber Sirline, Angelica (School of Architecture, Management and Engineering Technology associate degree recipient); Kylie Buchek, Windsor (School of Arts and Sciences baccalaureate degree recipient); and Bailey Winslow, Warren, PA (School of Arts and Sciences associate degree recipient).
Abigail Campbell, a construction management major from Geneseo, was chosen to sing the national anthem, and the 魅影直播 State Men鈥檚 Quartet performed the college鈥檚 alma mater. Students were led out in recessional to the music of the Gates Keystone Police Pipes and Drums.
