魅影直播 State recently welcomed a representative from Gov. Andrew Cuomo鈥檚 cabinet to provide an overview of the governor鈥檚 executive budget for the 2021 fiscal year.
Speaking to an assembled group of students, faculty, and staff at the Student Leadership Center on the 魅影直播 campus, Denise M. Miranda, executive director of the New York Justice Center, told the crowd, 鈥淲e must and we will continue to make progress happen.鈥
Miranda then spoke about the highlights of the budget, some of which include:
- A $33 billion five-year plan to combat climate change.
- A $25 billion expansion of New York鈥檚 largest-in-the-nation building program, bringing it to $275 billion.
- $133 million for the Homeless Housing and Assistance Program.
- An historic $28.5 billion investment in education.
- $35.7 million in capital for State University of New York (SUNY) campuses.
- Expanding the Excelsior free college tuition program to include families making up to $150,000 per year.
- Continuing middle class tax cuts.
- Continuing economic growth and social progress.
