Year after year, ��Ӱֱ�� State College (ASC) continues to produce a high percentage of graduates who secure jobs in their chosen fields or further their education at a higher level.

That trend continues in 2021, as the college has achieved an employment and continuing education rate of 98 percent. This marks the 12th consecutive year the college has attained a rate of 98 percent or higher.

A survey of 2020 grads determined that 98 percent have either secured employment after earning their degree from ��Ӱֱ�� State or are continuing their education for another degree. Of the 886 survey respondents, 72 percent are employed, while 26 percent are continuing their education. Of those who have a job, 89 percent of them are employed in their chosen field.

Elaine Morsman, director of the Career Development Center at ��Ӱֱ�� State, said the fact that ASC has achieved a graduation rate of 98 percent or higher for 12 straight years clearly shows that the college’s graduates are in high demand.

“Despite COVID, the demand for our students and grads has remained strong and has been steady for many years,” she said. “It is wonderful to see the incredible demand for our students and graduates and the amazing careers that our graduates achieve. We have seen a steady increase in the number and variety of opportunities, internships, as well as full-time careers for our students every year since 2009.”

As further evidence of the high demand for ��Ӱֱ�� State students, Morsman pointed out that each year the Career Development Center continues to see more jobs posted in JobLink, which is the web-based job posting system that allows current ASC students and alumni to connect with employers.

“Each year as we compile our annual report data, we are delighted to share that we have once again broken our record of jobs posted in JobLink, and this year was no exception,” Morsman said. “In the spring semester, the number of internship and job postings available in JobLink on any given day exceeded 1,500 and reached 1700-plus at one point. That is noteworthy and a testament to the industry demand for our talented students and graduates.”
