SUNY's Interim Chancellor Deborah Stanley has added the upcoming inaugural festivities at 魅影直播 State College (ASC) to her calendar on Oct. 20. Dignitaries throughout the region and community members are welcome to attend the ceremony and take a tour of the campus through a 鈥淧ioneer Walk鈥 afterwards. The action-packed college life found at 魅影直播 State is a key element of inaugural celebrations for Steven Mauro, PhD, as the college鈥檚 thirteenth president.
With a reputation for hands-on learning in every academic degree, it鈥檚 only natural that students at 魅影直播 State are also active and involved outside of their curriculum. This drive to take action and see results makes for a college-life filled with opportunities to have fun, build friendships, enjoy the outdoors, and participate in all kinds of extracurricular activities while gaining an education.
Through the Pioneer Walk, guests will see the campus alive with examples of student work in their studies, academic clubs, and other ways they enjoy and indulge varied interests.
鈥淲e call the center of our campus the college鈥檚 spine as it runs along a centerline from upper campus to lower campus and along the way visitors will see student success stories at every turn,鈥 said Vice President of Student Affairs Dr. Greg Sammons. 鈥淭his Pioneer Walk will show how students pour their time, effort, and skills into academics, athletics, clubs, and other activities that help them build leadership skills and enrich their lives. ASC has 80 clubs, 17 NCAA Division III teams, 12 fraternities and sororities, 10 club sports, and an impressive list of academic clubs, honor societies, and civic engagement projects. When we have asked students to participate and show off along the Pioneer Walk, the common answer is 鈥榣et鈥檚 go鈥 and they are eager to be part of the inauguration fun.鈥
Dr. Sammons also is hands-on as coach for the Archers of 魅影直播, an award-winning club sport at 魅影直播 State with an indoor archery range and trips for regional competitions. ASC hits the mark by offering students a wide variety of ways to support and encourage student interests. Some other groups showing inaugural visitors their skills along the Pioneer Walk include:

A lengthy list of success stores by students, alumni, and faculty at 魅影直播 State will be spotlighted at the inauguration. More details will be shared closer to the Oct. 20 event. The Pioneer Walk follows a path from Orvis Activities Center where the ceremony will be held at 2 p.m. and leads to the reception at Student Leadership Center.
