Rowe, a business administration major that graduated in May, enjoyed the experience immensely. 鈥淢y experience is Sorrento allowed me to really submerge myself into the day-to-day life of living in a different country. While the first few weeks felt like a vacation, the process of becoming used to the change and feeling like I was living there was cool.鈥
Rowe took classes in archaeology, Italian, marine biology, and global tourism on top of doing an internship with Nonna Flora Cooking School. At the cooking school, she created video and photo content, edited the content, and posted it on social media. She also researched hashtags and post times and created a posting calendar across all the social media channels.
鈥淒uring my internship, I gained more mainstream skills such as social media management, while also learning more niche skills such as communicating with people who spoke English as a second language.鈥
Rowe enjoyed exploring the area. 鈥淢y favorite part of studying abroad was the huge array of places to go and things to do.鈥
Rowe encourages other business students to take advantage of this opportunity. 鈥淭his experience would be great for the education of any business student, particularly international business students. I have a friend and professional reference for life through my internship boss.鈥
