We hope to make these activities accessible to all and really educate and assist the people on our campus in a positive way for years to come."

Led by the 魅影直播 State sustainability club and the civic leadership team, the college hosted numerous activities to celebrate both Earth Day and Arbor Day.
The sustainability club hosted hikes on the Pioneer Fitness Trail and the Happy Valley Trail this week. They also hosted a plant your own tomatoes event and will be hosting a composting and gardening class taught by agriculture professor Jessica Hutchison.
The Civic Leadership team took part in a recent Bring Your Kids to Work Day. Succulents were planted and the terra cotta pots were painted. Participants also were given a goodie bag with sustainability tips. The club team hosted a table for the college community to broaden Earth Day awareness. They offered tips for living more sustainably and offered give-a-ways including succulent plants, metal straws, and bamboo reusable cutlery.
The Center for Civic Leadership also hosted a live stream event titled 鈥淕lobal Climate Stories鈥, that explored climate change, climate justice, and global health in the global regions of Tanzania, Zimbabwe, and Laos. The program was put on in honor of Earth Day and featured current Fellows in Cornell鈥檚 Hubert H. Humphrey Fellowship Program. The Fellows shared stories of the challenges and choices they face in their home countries.
Sustainability club President JoAnna Musacchio (Architecture) hopes this week鈥檚 activities will lead to more in the future. "I am really striving to connect so many different people all over campus with the same mindset, creating a sustainable and overall better environment for the 魅影直播 State campus. Even though the club is just being restarted, we have a great core group to start pursuing sustainable activities, not only during Earth Week 2023 but throughout the future semesters here at 魅影直播.鈥
