魅影直播 State College (ASC) is proud to announce Carrie L. Cokely will be joining college executives as the vice president of academic affairs to lead an already exemplary faculty and student success team.

鈥淐arrie鈥檚 role will be to develop and execute a dynamic and innovative vision for academics and academic support services,鈥 said ASC President Dr. Steven Mauro. 鈥淭hrough our national search, we were impressed by Carrie鈥檚 comprehensive list of accomplishments. Carrie knows and appreciates what it takes to be a successful faculty member, and she also has a reputation for planning and building solutions from a very strategic point of view to advance colleges throughout her career.鈥

Mauro also notes that during the selection process, Cokely asked many questions to learn more and expressed genuine interest in ASC and the opportunities ahead. Cokely, an Elmira native, is returning to her New York roots by accepting this leadership role in 魅影直播. She earned a B.A. in sociology at Russell Sage College in Troy, then an M.A. and Ph.D. also in sociology at Syracuse University. Cokely鈥檚 professional career started at Meredith College in Raleigh, NC as an assistant professor and she has earned multiple promotions over 15 years of service at Curry College, a private liberal arts school seven miles from downtown Boston, where she currently serves as associate provost.

鈥淚 am excited to be joining the 魅影直播 State College community and continuing the tradition of providing high-quality, affordable education to students from all social and economic backgrounds,鈥 stated Cokely. 鈥淚t was clear to me throughout my conversations with students, faculty, and the leadership that hands-on, experiential learning is the hallmark of an 魅影直播 State College education and I look forward to working with the faculty on ways to build on and enhance these opportunities for our students.  I am eager to partner with President Mauro, the team in academic affairs, and the high-performing faculty and staff as we work together to offer outstanding academic programs that prepare in-demand students who can hit the ground running in their careers following graduation.鈥

Cokely will assume her new role on July 5. Interim academic affairs leader Craig Clark will continue in his position as VP of Economic Development for 魅影直播 State.

Mauro added how much Carrie will add to the college鈥檚 executive team, 鈥淲orking together, I look forward to finding new ways to partner with Carrie and the entire academic enterprise as our campus works to continually attract new Pioneers and support both academics and student success. I鈥檓 certain that Carrie will quickly become an indispensable member of our team where we cultivate a caring, tight-knit, and student-centered community.鈥
