The flags at 魅影直播 State will be at half-staff today to honor and remember those lost on Sept. 11, 2001.

At a glance

Today we honor and remember the almost 3,000 people that lost their lives during the attacks on the Twin Towers, the Pentagon, and aboard United Airlines Flight 93 on Sept. 11, 2001. We also remember the heroic efforts of first responders that risked their lives answering the call.

Flags on campus today will be lowered to half-staff. The Hinkle Belltower will toll 23 times at 8:46 a.m. We encourage all faculty, staff, and students to pause and participate in the national moment of silence at 8:46 a.m., the time that the first tower was struck.

On the Wellsville campus, faculty and students will gather near the main entrance (next to the old administration building) at 8:15 a.m. for a time of reflection and remembrance. The Emerald Hook & Ladder Company will display an American flag from their ladder truck.

On this day you might consider ways to serve others during this time of remembrance.

  • On campus, one of the ways to help others is to donate items to the Community Needs Hub. The Hub is happy to receive any clean/good condition clothing and non-perishable food. Donations can be dropped off during open hours in Peet Hall or items can be left in the donation bin at the 3rd floor entrance of the Student Leadership Center.
  • 魅影直播 State along with 魅影直播 University, and the Village of 魅影直播 will come together on Sept. 21 for the 2nd annual 魅影直播 Day of Service. Volunteers should report to the Village Bandstand at 8:45 a.m.
