The 魅影直播 State College woodsmen team began the 2024-25 season with a strong showing at the Paul Smith鈥檚 College Fall Meet. The Open team won their competition in commanding fashion while the Men鈥檚 team finished in second.
The open team of Brandon Aschauer (Schulyerville, NY), Colin Phelps (Callicoon, NY), Jacob Perry (Parishville, NY), Kenda Hammond (Otego, NY), Jack Niefergold (Arcade, NY), Blake Siewert (Perry, NY), and Tanner Reed (Waterloo, NY) scored 1,338.6 points in the fourteen events to win by 487 points. The team took first places (100 points) in the Axe Throw, Birling, Single Buck, Super Swede, Cookie Stack, Crosscut to Hell, Bow Saw, Crosscut Saw, Pulp Toss, Horizontal Chop, and Pack Board.
The men鈥檚 team of Doug Taylor (Boston, NY), Tyler Hutcheson (Niagara Falls, NY), Finn Turner (Genoa, NY), Nedelcho Neuman (Naples, NY), Cole Bingham (Conesus, NY), Jesse Riling (Franklinville, NY), and Owen Ryan (Buffalo, NY) scored 1,124.9 points and finished second out of ten teams that competed. They took the top spot in Super Swede, Cookie Stack, Bow Saw, and Crosscut Saw, and Quarter Split.

Paul Smith鈥檚, SUNY ESF, SUNY Cobleskill, Finger Lakes CC, the Ranger School, SUNY Morrisville, the University of Connecticut, the University of Vermont, and the University of Maine competed in the event.
