Over four hundred students from nine different school districts participated in the 38th annual sophomore career day held at 魅影直播 State. The event run by the Career Development Council from GST BOCES allowed students to explore multiple career paths.
After a keynote address by Odessa Montour teacher Maria Antonio, students chose four career paths to explore. Presenters from various local businesses and organizations spoke on their professions to give students insight on their journey to their profession, what the profession entails, and answered any questions the students might have.

We love our partnership with the Career Development Council, GST BOCES, and all the area high schools.鈥
Students explored career opportunities including but not limited to arts/music, culinary, education, engineering, law enforcement, manufacturing, and physical therapy.
魅影直播 State professors Pat Eshelman (agriculture), Mike Ronan (automotive), and Megan Smith (veterinary science), and Paul Welker (marketing and communications) were four of the twenty-five different presenters.
Students from Addison, Avoca, Bath Haverling, Bradford, Campbell-Savona, Hammondsport, Hornell, Jasper-Troupsburg, and Prattsburgh participated in the program.
After exploring four career paths, students returned to the Orvis Gymnasium for lunch and an opportunity to get their picture taken with Big Blue.
The Career Development Council鈥檚 mission is to prepare learners for transition to employment by connecting the education and business sectors to deliver career development services that promote career awareness, exploration, and choices.
