The 魅影直播 State Archery team wrapped up its 2025 campaign at the USA Archery Collegiate Target Nationals in East Lansing, MI.

Sophomore Brandon Stanton (Union Springs, NY - Electrical Engineering) set a new school record with a score of 685 in his qualification round, setting himself as a top 20 seed and earning a first-round bye in the elimination rounds.

Almost 500 archers enjoyed balmy, ideal conditions for qualification rounds on Friday, but overnight storms and a confirmed tornado changed the weather conditions for the elimination round. Archers had to battle high winds and lower temperatures, nearly 25 degrees cooler, on Saturday.

Stanton won his first match against a competitor from Rowan University but lost a close back-and-forth round against an archer from Mount Marty University to end his medal bid.

Along with Stanton, Adam Winter (Clifton Park, NY - Construction Management) also represented the Pioneers at the National Championships. Both earned All-East honors earlier this spring.

Assistant Coach Travis Smith was proud of Stanton鈥檚 new record, 鈥淏randon performed well by staying focused on his process shot to shot, and not overthinking the outcome to distract him from what he needed to do.鈥

In total team results, the University of the Cumberlands reclaimed the team championship, with defending champions Texas A&M University (TAMU) finishing second.
