Each year on June 19, we pause to honor Juneteenth - the day in 1865 when the last enslaved African Americans in Texas finally learned of their freedom, more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation. This day serves as both a celebration of liberation and a moment of deep reflection.
As we commemorate Juneteenth, let us be reminded of the strength and resilience of those who came before us and renew our dedication to building a more just, compassionate, and equitable society - for ourselves and for future generations.
