Pioneers ready to compete at SkillsUSA National Championships

Nine ÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State students will head to Atlanta, GA to compete in the 2025 SkillsUSA National Championships.

Nine ÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State students will represent the college at the National SkillsUSA Championship in Atlanta, GA.  The competition takes place June 23-27.

To qualify for the National Championships, Landon Spoonhower (automotive refinishing - Berkshire, NY), Dominic Getman (automotive service - Rochester, NY), Matthew Goodwin (carpentry - Barker, NY), Kelly Cosgrove (commercial roofing - Buffalo, NY), Mary Kienenberger (commercial baking - Scio, NY), Levi Peterson (electrical construction wiring – New Paltz, NY), Doug Taylor (masonry – Boston, NY), Christian Hall (prepared speech – Massena, NY), and Ella Fyock (welding – Bliss, NY) won their competition at the 2025 SkillsUSA New York State Leadership and Skills Conference Postsecondary Championship held at ÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State’s Wellsville campus.

These students along with ÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State faculty and staff will travel to Atlanta for the five-day event which features more than 6,500 state champions competing in 114 skilled and leadership skill areas.

Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Carrie Cokely will travel to Atlanta and is excited to see the ÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State students compete.
