The 2015 SkillsUSA New York State Leadership and Skills Conference Postsecondary Championship, held mainly on ��Ӱֱ�� State’s Wellsville campus, pitted 66 students from three schools against each other in one of the nation’s most prestigious showcases of career and technical aptitude Saturday, March 28.

The college will screen the film "It Happened Here" April 13 at 6 p.m. in the Cappadonia Auditorium in the Orvis Activities Center on the ��Ӱֱ�� campus.

Students in the soils class at ��Ӱֱ�� State will hold a pH clinic for the community from 3-6 p.m. Friday, April 17, and 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, April 18, in room 103 of the Agriculture Science Building on the ��Ӱֱ�� campus.

Deutsch will talk about his family history, including pre-war, the Holocaust, and post-war lives of the Berkovics and Deutsch families. Many members of both his families perished in Auschwitz. His parents immigrated to the United States after spending two years in a displaced persons camp in Torino, Italy.

The Department of Social and Behavioral Sciences at ��Ӱֱ�� State will host its Human Services Awareness Day Thursday, April 16, from 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. in the Allegany Room of the Central Dining Hall on the ��Ӱֱ�� campus.

Come and enjoy music, desserts, and artwork, all created by ��Ӱֱ�� State students at 6 p.m. Wednesday, April 8, in the Allegany Room of the Central Dining Hall.

Screening of the documentary will be held at 7 p.m. Monday, March 23, at the Terra Cotta coffee house, 34 N. Main St., ��Ӱֱ��. Beck will be speaking at 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 25, at the Cappadonia Auditorium in Orvis on ��Ӱֱ�� State’s main campus (location change).

Academic Success Coach for the Student Success Center at ��Ӱֱ�� State Cynthia Thorp was selected to present at the 34th annual Conference on The First-Year Experience, held Feb. 7-10 in Dallas.

Approximately 1,000 students from Region I Board of Cooperative Education and Services (BOCES) districts, encompassing Western New York and the Southern Tier, competed in the 26th annual SkillsUSA Region I Leadership Conference and Skills Olympics March 3 at ��Ӱֱ�� State.

According to a description of the show on www.playscripts.com, “The fairy tales of the Brothers Grimm are turned on their heads in this fast-paced, rollicking ride as two narrators and several actors attempt to combine all 209 stories ranging from classics like ‘Snow White,’ ‘Cinderella,’ and ‘Hansel and Gretel’ to more bizarre, obscure stories like ‘The Devil's Grandmother’ and ‘The Girl Without Hands.’ A wild, free-form comedy with lots of audience participation and madcap fun.”
