ASC ranked No. 3 in the US, colleges with surveying technology
Picture yourself enjoying time in the outdoors while using your math and computing skills. Surveying students learn both the fundamentals of surveying and software analysis using exciting technologies like GPS (Global Positioning Systems), GIS (Geographic Information Systems) and LIS (Land Information Systems). Surveying studies are offered for both an AAS degree and BS degree. Our four year surveying program is the only ABET accredited degree in New York and is only one of four in the northeast. If you're looking for an active and well compensated career, consider surveying and geomatics engineering technology.

"As a member of 魅影直播 Advisory Board for several years, I've observed very progressive planning in an effort to keep current with emerging technologies as they impact the surveying community, and real world applications." -Gary Thompson, PLS, Hunt Engineers, Architects & Land Surveyors, P.C.
鈥滣扔爸辈 State prepared me to enter the surveying workforce, and they continue to do that today. Staying current with technology is a difficult task, but they do it well, and their graduates reflect that.鈥 -Roman H. Figler, '77

魅影直播 State Major Gift Donor Spotlight: Walter Sass
Walter Sass, RPLS, can relate to the theme of 魅影直播 State鈥檚 Major Gifts Campaign, 鈥淏e a Life Changer,鈥 because the college made a very big impact on his own life.
Today, Sass is a principal owner of Weisser Engineering & Surveying in Houston, TX, with years of success in his field. A 1978 surveying technology graduate, he credits 魅影直播 State College with helping him get to where he is today.
鈥淚 have always looked at 魅影直播 as being the major foundation for my education and my confidence to succeed in the business world,鈥 he said.
Knowing what a difference 魅影直播 State can make in students鈥 lives, Sass decided to donate to the school鈥檚 Major Gifts Campaign, which launched in September to raise $8 million for athletics, new programs, scholarships, technology, and the greatest needs of the college. The campaign has currently raised over $5.75 million in donations and pledges thanks to the generosity of donors such as Walter Sass.
After graduating in 1978, Sass immediately went to Texas to work, beginning his employment with a civil engineering firm. A couple of years later, he went to work for Weisser Engineering Company, Inc., which was established by 鈥渙ne of Houston鈥檚 premier engineers and surveyors, Frederick C. Weisser, PE, RPLS, with the mission to provide exceptional engineering and surveying services in the Gulf Coast area,鈥 according to the company鈥檚 website.
Now known as Weisser Engineering & Surveying (WES), the company has been under the direction of Walter Sass and Barry Hufford, both former employees or Mr. Weisser, since 1987. Weisser鈥檚 capabilities include general civil engineering, land development, construction management, and all areas of land surveying, mapping, digital scanning, and global positioning systems (GPS).
