Angela Graves is an Associate Professor with a Ph.D. in political science from the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs at Syracuse University. Originally from the Washington, D.C. area, she moved to Eastern Europe to study post-communist transition firsthand, earning her BA in Romania and her MA in Hungary. Her research focuses on political culture, globalization, and civic education through a comparative lens. Dr. Graves has served her community as a zoning and planning board member, election inspector, Census enumerator, and volunteer instructor for the Cornell Prison Education Program. An active corporate cross-cultural coach, she helps professionals and their families navigate international assignments. In 2024, she was named an inaugural SUNY Civic Education and Engagement and Civil Discourse Fellow.
