Biography

Prof. David J. Hunt currently teaches at the rank of Associate Professor in the Mechanical and Electrical Engineering Technology depart at ��Ӱֱ�� State College.  His specialty is on the electrical related courses, such as Introduction to Electrical Circuits, Electronic Fabrication, Circuit Theory I, Microelectronics, IC Technology, and Instrumentation.  Prof. Hunt was born and raised in rural western New York.  He attended ��Ӱֱ�� State College from 1989-93, receiving his B.S. in electrical engineering technology in 1993.  He did his graduate work at ��Ӱֱ�� University from 1996-98, receiving his M.S. in electrical engineering in 1998.  His graduate thesis was “RF Plasma Deposition of Magnesium-Aluminum Oxide.”

Prof. Hunt has worked at ��Ӱֱ�� State College since 1998 and has served as Department Chair for 6 years.  Prof. Hunt received the Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Faculty Service in May 2016.  Prof. Hunt is known for his passion in teaching and for his dedication to students, who respect him for the wealth of information and support that he offers them. He makes the world their learning ground, as he provides practical and professional knowledge to them that they will need to be competitive in their field of study and work. His students strive to meet the challenges he presents them, and they do so willingly because of their regard for his abilities and intelligence.

Prof. Hunt is also faculty adviser of the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE) Club and Co-Advisor to the Robotics Club and has traveled with the club to regional and national competitions.
