At ÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State, you’ll gain hands-on preparation for careers in sustainability, conservation, and natural resource management. The Pre-Environmental Science and Forestry AA builds a strong academic foundation while preparing you for seamless transfer into bachelor’s programs in environmental science, forestry, natural resource conservation, or paper science engineering. After two years at ÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State, students may transfer directly into programs at SUNY ESF or related institutions.

Admissions Requirements

Entrance Requirements / Recommendations

Required: Algebra, Geometry, and Algebra 2; Biology; Chemistry or Physics

Recommended: Both Chemistry and Physics

If students do not place into MATH 1033 College Algebra, MATH 1084 Calculus I, MATH 1323 Quantitative Reasoning, 1034 College Algebra of Functions, 1054 Precalculus, or 2124 Statistical Methods & Analysis, then MATH 1014 Algebra Concepts is a required prerequisite for completion of the major.

If students do not place into PHYS 1024 General Physics I or PHYS 1044 College Physics I, then PHYS 1014 Introductory Physics is a required prerequisite for completion of this major.

In this program, you’ll build strong foundations in math, science, and reasoning while learning the methods scientists use to explore natural phenomena. You’ll strengthen research, writing, and communication skills, apply technology to analyze data, and prepare for seamless transfer into bachelor’s programs in environmental science, forestry, or related fields.
