About 5 business days after filing the FAFSA, you’ll receive an email link to your Student Aid Report (SAR). Review it carefully for accuracy.

FAFSA review begins!

New students with a valid FAFSA will receive a Financial Aid Offer in the mail, along with an email on how to view the offer on the student portal.
Returning students will receive a postcard and an email when their Financial Aid Offer is available for viewing online.
February - March
Begin searching for outside scholarship opportunities through your high school, community organizations, and online.
April
Follow the required steps to process your financial aid.
Students selected for Federal Verification must provide tax returns or income information to our Office. Please respond promptly.
May
Enrollment Deposit due May 1! Secures a spot in your major and any ÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State scholarships. (Some majors have earlier deadlines.)
NYS Residents: Watch for updates and apply when the application opens.
June
Your Financial Aid Offer may change due to Federal Verification, enrollment/housing changes, or new scholarships. Be sure to check your campus email regularly for updates.
Let us know about any outside scholarships or grants that you’ll be receiving.
If your family has experienced income changes or hardship, contact the office. Financial Aid adjustments may be available through a Professional Judgement Request.

What is the Monthly Payment Plan?
÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State offers a Monthly Payment Plan (MPP) option through Nelnet to enable families to spread educational expenses for the semester into equal monthly payments and avoid additional borrowing. Please note Monthly Payment Plans are not available for non-matriculated students.

Payment Methods and Benefits
Automatic Payments
An automatic bank payment (ACH) or a saved credit/debit card is required to sign up for a Monthly Payment Plan.
Flexible Payment Dates
Students can update their automatic payment dates if needed.
Automatic Adjustments
Your monthly payment amount due will adjust automatically if your semester balance decreases or increases up to $1,000
Veteran Monthly Payment Plan
This plan is available to veterans and dependents of military personnel receiving military educational benefits. This plan allows the participant to defer the initial payment until Feb. 10, 2025. Proof of eligibility is required such as the DD-214 Form or an eligibility letter for the Montgomery GI Bill®. This plan is not available online. Contact Student Records and Financial Services for more information.

Determining Your Monthly Payment
Take your balance due for the semester after financial aid has been applied and add the $35 non-refundable application fee. This is your total balance.
- If you are signing up for the 4-month semester payment plan, divide your total balance by five to determine the amount of your down payment and each of your monthly payments.
- If you are signing up for the 3-month semester payment plan, divide the balance by four to determine the amount of your down payment and each of your monthly payments.
- If you are signing up for the Veteran's semester payment plan, divide your balance by four to determine your monthly payments.
The down payment is due when you set up the Monthly Payment Plan. Please refer to the schedules above to determine when your monthly payments are due.
