Pios Split with Penn Tech

The ÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State College baseball team split a non-league doubleheader at Penn Tech in Williamsport on Sunday afternoon.  The Blue and Gold fell 3-2 in the opener and won the nightcap 3-1.  ASC is now 3-1 on the year.

The ÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State College opened up their campaign by winning the Mohawk Valley CC Tournament for the second year in a row.  The Lady Pioneers were a perfect 5-0 on the day.

Pios Sweep Fall Opener

The ÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State College baseball team opened up their fall campaign with a sweep of WNYAC rival Mercyhurst North East.  The Pioneers won the opener 10-5 and the nightcap 6-5 in eight innings.

Lady Pioneers tie Delhi

The ÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State College women's soccer team was out-shot 40 to 9 but behind the solid play of goaltender Philicia Harris (Buffalo/Hutch Tech) the Lady Pioneers tied SUNY Delhi 2-2 in a Region III Division III contest on Saturday.  Harris finished the contest with 30 saves for ASC.

Broome rallies past ASC

The Broome CC men's soccer team scored two 2nd half goals to erase a 1-0 deficit and held on for a 2-1 Region III Division III victory over ÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State on Saturday afternoon.  The win improves the Hornets to 2-1 and drops the Pioneers to 0-4-1.

A-State falls to Genesee CC

The ÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State College men's soccer team fell behind 2-0 to Genesee CC on Thursday afternoon and couldn't rally back and fell 3-1.  The Cougars improve to 4-1 on the year while the Pioneers fall to 0-3-1.

The ÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State College women's soccer team shut out Corning CC, 1-0, in their season opener.  The Lady Pioneers out-shot the Red Barons 19 to 6 in the victory.

Chisolm Earns National Honor

A day after being named the Northeast Football Conference defensive player of the week, ÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State College cornerback John Chisolm (Trenton, NJ) has been named the NJCAA defensive player of the week.  Chisolm is the first Pioneer football player to be honored by the NJCAA in Head Coach Mick Caba's tenure.

÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State College sophomore cornerback John Chisolm (Trenton, NJ) intercepted four passes in the team's season opening 22-21 loss at Stevens Tech.  Chisolm was playing his first game on the defensive side of the ball after playing offense as a freshman. 

Chisolm, a two-sport athlete at ÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State, took time and answered questions from athletic department intern John Zappolo.

Pioneers drop two at Delhi Tournament

The ÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State College men's soccer team couldn't get the offense going as they fell in both games at the SUNY Delhi Tournament over the weekend.  The Blue and Gold, 0-2-1 on the year, fell 6-0 to SUNY Cobleskill on Saturday and 2-1 on Sunday versus SUNY Delhi.

Pioneers fall in final seconds

Stevens Tech running back Benaly Ortega scored on a rush around the left side in the final seconds as the Fighting Bulldogs came from behind to down ÷ÈÓ°Ö±²¥ State 22-21 in an emotional season opener for both teams.  Ortega scored with three seconds remaining and the Bulldogs were able to hold the Pioneers from scoring on the ensuing kick-off to hold on for the win.
