��Ӱֱ�� State College's  (Women in Non-traditional Studies--though membership is open to all students) recently raised $250  through bottle and can returns and coin banks to buy presents for an area family sponsored by Steuben Rural Ministry of Canisteo. 

Dr. John M. Anderson, the 11th president of ��Ӱֱ�� State College, can be seen in the stands rooting on ��Ӱֱ�� State athletes.  He recently took the time to answer a few questions from the sports information department.

Students enrolled in the School of Applied Technology of ��Ӱֱ�� State College, and members of the SkillsUSA Club, joined forces to collect items for soldiers in Iraq.

Student Health Services at ��Ӱֱ��
State College has achieved re-accreditation by the Accreditation Association
for Ambulatory Health Care (AAAHC).  The award is given to those
ambulatory care centers that have met nationally recognized standards for
quality health care.

��Ӱֱ�� State College students once again participated in the Student Senate and ACES (Auxiliary Campus Enterprises and Services, the campus dining and vending organization) sponsored "Give Up A Meal" (GUAM) program whereby students who donate a "meal punch" help raise money for charity. 

Four members of the ��Ӱֱ�� State College wrestling team earned top four finishes at the annual ASC Open on Saturday.  Darren Whittall (Starpoint) and Daniel Steiger (Miller Place) took home 3rd while Alex Krammell (Perry) and Dan Dwyer (Lafayette) finished 4th.

Thursday evening's men's basketball game between ��Ӱֱ�� State and Ithaca JV has been cancelled.  The game will be now played on February 2 at 7 p.m. at the Orvis Activities Center.

The ��Ӱֱ�� State College men's swimming team spilt a WNYAC double-dual meet on Wednesday evening in Rochester.  ASC downed Jamestown CC 124-10 but fell 143-63 to Monroe CC.

The ��Ӱֱ�� State College wrestling team could never get much going as they fell 42-3 to Niagara CCC in a WNYAC battle on Wednesday evening.  ASC falls to 0-4 (0-3 WNYAC) on the season.

��Ӱֱ�� State College faculty and staff enhanced their own holiday spirit by contributing toys, hats, gloves, and scarves as their "admission" to the college's annual holiday party.

The American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) recently announced its Two-Year Colleges Women's Volleyball All-American Team, and ��Ӱֱ�� State's Yurika Toyodome (Tokyo, Japan) was named to the First Team.  This is the first time ever an ��Ӱֱ�� State athlete has received this honor.  Toyodome is the only NJCAA Division III player named to the First Team. 

After a slow first five minutes, Gensee CC got their offense going in a 92-61 WNYAC victory over ��Ӱֱ�� State on Tuesday evening.  The Cougars, ranked #6 in the latest NJCAA Division III poll, trailed 14-0 after five minutes but went on to hit 15 three-pointers to improve to 9-0 on the season.

Genesee CC jumped out to a 15-2 lead and never looked back en route to a 70-45 victory over ��Ӱֱ�� State in the WNYAC opener for both teams.  ASC ends the 2008 portion of the season with a 4-7 mark while GCC evens up their record at 3-3.

Four members of the ��Ӱֱ�� State College wrestling team placed at this weekend's Niagara CCC Open.  Mike Gustafson (Warren, PA) earned 3rd place at 133, Derek Noldy (Rushboro, PA) was 4th at 174, and Daniel Steiger (Miller Place) and Peter Cole (Baldwinsville) both finished 6th at 184 and 125 respectfully.

The ��Ӱֱ�� State College men's swimming team competed versus NCAA Division III competition at the SUNY Fredonia Blue Devil Invitational this weekend.  The Pioneers scored 288 points in the three-day event.

The ��Ӱֱ�� State College women's basketball team raced out to a 37-16 lead at halftime en route to a 57-47 victory over Elmira JV on Sunday afternoon.  The win snaps a two game slide and improves the Lady Pioneers to 4-6 on the season.

��Ӱֱ�� State College volleyball coach Gene Doorley has earned two national Coach of the Year awards.  For the third straight season Doorley has been named the American Volleyball Coaches Association Northeast Coach of the Year and for the second straight season he has been named the NJCAA Division III District A Coach of the Year.

The ��Ӱֱ�� State College women's basketball team fell 72-65 to the JV squad from the University of Rochester on Thursday evening.  U of R was 12 for 13 from the foul line to seal the victory.

��Ӱֱ�� State College sophomores Yurika Toyodome (Tokyo, Japan) and Jenni Jerome (Syracuse/Westhill) have been named All-Americans by the Division III of the NJCAA.  Toyodome was a first team selection while Jerome was named honorable mention.

The ��Ӱֱ�� State College men's basketball team rallied from a 22-point second half deficit to cut it to three, 67-64, but couldn't make it all the way back and fell 69-64 to Finger Lakes CC.  ASC falls to 6-6 on the season.

The ��Ӱֱ�� State College women's basketball team couldn't come back from a first half deficit and fell 64-50 to Finger Lakes CC on Tuesday.  FLCC used a 17-0 run in the last seven minutes of the half to lead 31-17 and held off a Lady Pioneer second half rally that closed the gap to four points.

College Alumni Singers will present a "We Need a Little Christmas" Concert,
Sunday, Dec. 14, 2008, at 2 p.m. at the ��Ӱֱ�� Town Fire Hall-Theatre,
University Street. Anthony Cappadonia, director; Patricia Wiggers,
accompanist.  The concert is open to the public free of charge; light
refreshments will be served following the concert.
