The ��Ӱֱ�� State College men's indoor track & field team opened up Region III Championships on a strong note at Colgate University's Class of '32 Invitational on Saturday.  The Pioneers accumulated 112 points to claim the top spot after the field events while the Lady Pioneers sit in 3rd after picking up 36 points.

The ��Ӱֱ�� State College men's basketball team trailed 36-25 at halftime and by as many as 14 in the second half but rallied for a 76-73 victory over Mercyhurst North East.

The ��Ӱֱ�� State College women's basketball team scored the final seven points in the contest as they defeated Mercyhurst North East 68-61 in a WNYAC match-up on Thursday.  The Lady Pioneers improve to 8-9 overall.

Wednesday evening's WNYAC wrestling dual match between ��Ӱֱ�� State and Jamestown CC has been cancelled due to the poor weather conditions.  The two teams will now wrestle on Friday January 30 at 6 p.m.

Both the ��Ӱֱ�� State College men's and women's basketball teams fell at Monroe CC on Tuesday in WNYAC match-ups.  The men fell 66-56 to the #7 ranked Tribunes (17-5) while the women fell 94-46 to the #17 Lady Tribunes (16-4).

For the second time this season, ��Ӱֱ�� State College sophomore Brittney Brooks (Elmira Free) has been named the Region III female athlete of the week.  Brooks recorded double-doubles in all three games this past week as the Lady Pioneers were 2-1 to improve to 7-8 on the season.

The ��Ӱֱ�� State College men's swimming team continued their solid season by winning the SUNY Delhi Invitational.  The Pioneer men have now won three invitationals this season.  The women finished 8th out of nine teams.

Wenley Louis (Irondequoit) and David Gross (Brockport) each set new school records as the ��Ӱֱ�� State College indoor track and field team competed at the Mary Phillips Open at SUNY Fredonia.

The ��Ӱֱ�� State College men's basketball team battled Erie CC tough but fell 64-50 in a WNYAC match-up on Saturday afternoon.  ASC falls to 8-9 (2-3 WNYAC) while the ECC improves to 16-5 (3-2 WNYAC).

Brittney Brooks (Elmira Free) scored a career high 33 points as the ��Ӱֱ�� State College women's basketball team outscored Erie CC 50-30 in the second half en route to a 89-75 victory.  The Lady Pioneers are now 7-8 on the season and 2-2 in WNYAC play.

Five players finished in double figures as the ��Ӱֱ�� State College men's basketball team evened up their record with a 73-59 victory over Jamestown CC on Thursday evening.  ASC is 8-8 overall and 2-2 in WNYAC play.

The ��Ӱֱ�� State College women's basketball team couldn't hold on to a halftime lead and fell 77-62 to Jamestown CC in a WNYAC match-up on Thursday evening.  The Lady Pioneers fall to 6-8 overall and 1-2 in WNYAC play.

Bill Drake (Hornell) will continue his collegiate career at Mayville State University (Mayville, ND).  Drake joins the Comets football team this spring after a strong two year career wearing the blue & gold at ��Ӱֱ�� State.

The ��Ӱֱ�� State College men's basketball team led 27-22 at half but were outscored 41-26 in the second half and fell 63-53 to Niagara CCC in a WNYAC contest at the Orvis Activities Center on Tuesday evening.  ASC falls to 7-8 overall and 1-2 in WNYAC play.

The ��Ӱֱ�� State women's basketball team raced out to a 43-20 halftime lead and held on for a 70-58 victory over Niagara CCC.  The Lady Pioneers improve to 6-7 on the year and 1-1 in WNYAC play.

The ��Ӱֱ�� State College men's swim team won the team title as they opened up 2009 at the Erie CC Invitational.  The women's team finished 4th.

Dan Reynolds (Wayland Cohocton) won the pole vault as the ��Ӱֱ�� State College indoor track & field team opened up the 2009 season at the RIT Invitational.

The ��Ӱֱ�� State College wrestling team finished 16th out of 18 teams at the annual New York State Championships this weekend at SUNY Oswego.  The Pioneers scored five points in the event that features wrestlers from every New York school that sponsors a wrestling program (NJCAA, NCAA Division I and NCAA Division III).

The ��Ӱֱ�� State College men's basketball team shot 50.9% (28 for 55) from the field as the opened up 2009 with a 71-44 victory over JCC-Olean on Saturday.  ASC evens up their record at 7-7 (1-1 WNYAC).

The ��Ӱֱ�� State College women's basketball team opened up the 2009 portion of their season with a 64-42 victory over Elmira JV on Wednesday evening.  The Lady Pioneers improve to 5-7 on the year.

Despite a grim
fiscal outlook, not only for ��Ӱֱ�� State College, but for all of New York
State, Dr. John M. Anderson, president, ASC, was cautiously optimistic as he
welcomed faculty and staff back to campus just prior to the start of the spring
2009 academic semester.

The Civic Engagement and Activism Headquarters at ��Ӱֱ�� State College conducted a food drive prior to Christmas during which the members collected four large boxes of food from the students of ��Ӱֱ�� State College. 

Recently, ��Ӱֱ��
State College National Residence Hall Honorary (NRHH) adviser Allison Keddie
and a group of five ASC students attended the NEACURH (National Affiliation of
College and University Residence Halls) Regional Conference at Western New
England College. 

The ��Ӱֱ�� State College athletic department has announced a few changes to the 2009 portion of the basketball schedules.
